1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more (not having anything to do with the rabbit!).
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict. Example: sample conflict : Tayo needs to find a rabbit. sample predicted resolution: He will find the one he lost.
conflict 1:Tao's clan was starving. predicted resolution 1:I think that the next day there will be a herd of bison and Tao's clan will kill at least one.
conflict 2:Another conflict is that Tao loves to draw but in there culture it is taboo predicted resolution 2:I think that their culture will change and that they will let people draw.

Tao's mother's name was Verda. She was one of the mountain people. Verda cared about Tao very much. Her people wanted to kill Tao but she wouldn't let them. She took care of Tao by giving him food. Verda also loved Tao and would never hurt him. This is true because in the story it says "It was the law of the clan," the old women continued,"that weak and crippled children be taken up among the boulders and left for the hyenas. But your mother would not let you go". This shows that Verda loved Tao.

I think that Graybeard is wrong because it is not fair that Tao can't draw but he can.It doesn't matter if Graybeard is the "Chosen One" their both people,human beings. It's also not fair that Graybeard is crushing Tao's dreams.
I think it's neither because back then I think that if people wanted to draw they should do it because it is want they want and their dream but they should still hide their drawings.
It is not true now because now their no rule against that drawing is not taboo.
Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today, where a person's desires go against society's expectations

1. Tao crosses the river because Ram failed to capture the deer and Volt saw Tao defending him so he saw Tao do a Taboo.So Volt and the hunters chased after Tao and Ram,when they got away from them Tao new he was not allowed to go back to his clan so he crossed the river to rejoin with Ram.
